(RRP £12/10ml)
This is one of the magazine Freebies of July that I was happy to get my hands on and also one of those products I changed my mind about several times, hence why I've taken so long to release my review. Balance Me are a company that pride themselves on being a natural brand specialising in aromatherapy skincare products. I'm not a massive fan of lip glosses or salves so I decided to pick this one up in an attempt to start getting used to them more. Their products are also UK-made and, especially considering the Olympics held in London this year, I'm very into flying the UK flag right now.
Balance Me explain this lip salve as 'ultra-moisturising' and a 'daily beauty-must' that aims to 'plump, protect and smooth away dry patches on lips'. When I first used this product I couldn't stand it on my lips for longer than 5 minutes. It's very strong smelling due to the rose otto, rose geranium and palma rose. To me it tastes very herbal which I'm not a fan of.
However, I gave it a chance and I have to say I have become addicted. It's not sticky nor shiny - something I cannot stand in other glosses or balms. Its claims that the applicator is functional and creates 'no mess' is fully proven by the fact that the formula itself is quite stiff and smooth rather than liquidy. This can be mixed with other colours but I personally prefer the product on its own. My lips do definitely feel more plump after using the product and they feel fuller although this obviously isn't a longlasting effect.
Would I pay £12 for the product? I don't think so. As much as I've grown to love it and become addicted I don't think it's worth such a high price tag although of course natural products are generally more expensive. You do also very much get used to the scent/flavour and after a while it is something I became accustomed to.
This is such a gorgeous product that I'm glad I gave it another chance and picked it up in Glamour.
Oooh I got that magazine and this product with it! I'm still getting use to it though, although it looks and feels lovely. I think for me the taste is a little off putting :c
