A Perfect Wedding

Now, I'm not a big fan of weddings but whenever an OK! magazine comes out with a celebrity wedding my mum snaps it up (if we like the person) and I have a flick through - the cynic in me complains about the dress, the bridesmaids' dresses, the best men, the music, the speeches and the food. So needless to say I'm not a fan of wedding themes. However, when my favourite band had a wedding I called my mum up to get me a copy ASAP. If you're wondering it was the wedding of Tom Fletcher and Giovanna Falcone. I've been a massive fan of McFly since they released their first single - although technically I saw them support Busted so it was a while before the release! Anyone who knows me knows my love for McFly and I have to say they had the most perfect wedding.

(Photos courtesy and copyright of OK! Magazine - you can get your copy now and it's worth a look, I'm keeping my copy as it's absolutely wonderful. I'm not posting the whole article itself as that's why the magazine was released but I'm posting my favourite pictures and thoughts.)

Usually if one of my favourite band members has got a girlfriend, engaged or married I have bitterness inside of me that shouts that it won't last long. But with Tom and Giovanna I feel nothing but happiness for them. They've been childhood sweethearts and they've known each other long before McFly were even formed. Not only is Tom so, so lovely - I've met him twice and he's always so interested in the fans and takes our opinions on board and is just an absolute babe - but Giovanna is so lovely too. When I saw them in Hammersmith a few months ago she was in the audience and was very happy to have pictures taken regardless of the fact she was simply there to see her partner's band play, in theory people were butting in on her night out but she was so gracious and lovely with it.

The wedding itself is one of the most gorgeous and genuine 'celebrity' wedding I've seen in OK! Magazine. When I heard that they had a deal I was slightly apprehensive but seeing it in its full gloriousness just shows that not all weddings published are a set up, publicity affair to get a big wod of cash. With the McFly boys as best men my heart swelled with pride seeing the song Tom had written for them. Their friendship is far more than just performing together. The outfits themselves - including the best men's suits with green tie theme, the bridesmaids gorgeous lilac-esque colour and Giovanna's flowing dress were absolutely astounding. The night itself sounds very personal to them - with Tom singing his own version of 'All About You' (which he originally wrote for Giovanna) it sounds like the perfect wedding. They really are the perfect couple too and they will last unlike others who split up under the pressure of the 'celebrity' world.

Many, many, many congratulations to Mr & Mrs Fletcher!
