Clinique Moisture Surge

(This was free in a magazine however a full size version retails for £30/50ml)

I received this free in a magazine and would never purchase a product this expensive as I feel there are cheaper available on the market that do the same job at a much, much cheaper price. Getting this sample free in a magazine was brilliant because I've always wanted to try Clinique products before I pay the hefty price for them.

Online this product is described as a 'light, comfortable cream... with hydration for a full 24 hours'. It also says that 'a sense of supple, firm, vibrant well-being, even through shifts in humidity'. On the package itself it claims that it can be used over or under make-up.

My skin has been so dry recently that when this product fell into my hands I was extremely delighted. The formula itself is soft and light and I actually prefer this sample packaging to the glass jar that the full size comes in as I feel the perfect amount is dispensed - when in a jar I tend to overuse the amount of product, something worrying given the cost of a full jar.
I dab a tiny bit on areas where I suffer from dryness - my nose, under my eyes, chin and forehead. I have to say it makes my skin look so much fresher. It works much more in the moisturising process rather than over make-up as it mixes with my make-up and makes my skin look more uneven. It adds a healthy, refined glow.

It claims it can be used as a 5-minute moisture mask but I honestly believe it's better as a before/after make-up as a moisture mask seems a slight 'waste' in a sense as it would make my skin incredibly greasy and washing off such an expensive product, regardless of whether it's sunk into my skin or not, makes me feel slightly uneasy. I'd much rather have the satisfaction of having it on my face all the time!

Even if I had the money I would not pay £30 for this product given that a good moisturiser would probably have the same effect but be able to be used more readily.
