AVON Speed dry in Twilight Blue

I bought this AVON speed dry nail varnish as I'd been looking for a deep blue for quite a while without being too dark. It states that it 'dries in less than 30 seconds' and, although I have several products to aid in the drying process, I thought this was perfect as I was going out the night I put it on as well. The package itself is simple and blocky - a trend shown throughout the AVON range.

The varnish itself appears as a fairly dark blue colour - slightly brighter than navy. There were no signs of glitter either which really appealed to me as I hate glittery nail varnishes and search for more solid colours. The nail varnish certainly dried quickly, I can't state for certain whether it was 30 seconds but it dried quicker than other nail varnishes I've tried. I also only really needed one coat but I added another just to make the colour extra vibrant - although one would've done well.

However, whilst it dries quickly it appears that a compromise was made in the long-lasting appeal as it barely lasted before it chipped and faded. I'm disappointed that the colour was gorgeous but it's a shame it didn't last very long at all. I'd rather the formula lasted than had it dry quickly!

Overall the colour is gorgeous but I'm glad I got this on offer as I would not have paid £6 for a nail varnish that fades quickly.
