(retails at £17.50. This colour isn't currently available however you may be able to get your hands on it via ebay/amazon)
I received my very first, and only, Chanel nail varnish for my 18th birthday. When I got it I was so happy! The tag of 'Chanel' always conjures images of beautiful and luxurious quality and I was so excited to try it out. I don't generally keep nail varnish boxes but look how gorgeous it is. It's so elegant, keeping in with the consistent Chanel theme.
My only struggle was the lid. I spent a good few minutes twisting the outer lid only to discover it's just a very classy looking lid with the entwined Cs and the actual lid itself is underneath.
I find it very hard to explain nail varnish colours as a lot of it is up to the opinion of the nail colour themselves. I'd say that the colour is a deep purple, almost dark navy but a hybrid of both. The brush itself isn't especially outstanding - it gives the same coverage over the nail as my usual brand nail varnishes do. I also wouldn't say the nail varnish is overtly pigmented - I still needed 2 coats to make it look opaque and was tempted to try a third. In fact I was disappointed by how it chipped so easily. The colour was decent but other than that it lives up to the same standard as cheaper products such as Barry M and Models Own.
I definitely wouldn't pay £17.50 for this, however it does look very beautiful in my nail varnish drawer!
(I added a little customisation to 2 of my nails as you can see)
Good for: A classy nail varnish with a range of shades
Bad for: A reasonably good quality but not so much considering the price tag
